Kay Falls: a four-season waterfall without the hike
Have you ever visited these falls?
Located between Revelstoke and Sicamous, B.C. on the Trans Canada Highway, Kay Falls is a hidden gem. If you look, you can spot the waterfall from the highway, but a quick stop here is impressive.
Thundering with amazing force down 187 feet from the Monashee Mountains, this beautiful waterfall not only gets you completely soaked, but it will have you in awe of its sheer size!
Because trees encroach the stream above the falls, there is a window of only about 45 feet from the highway where the falls are partially visible. The falls are suspected to be significantly taller- about 100 feet!
Kay Falls is impressive in all four seasons.
The falls transform into a frozen wonderland in wintertime, and getting up close and personal is easy. Winter is the perfect opportunity to get a selfie emphasizing its grand scale compared to little you!
A raincoat is necessary for spring as the mist and spray make you soaked and smiling! Notice the beautiful, lush rainforest surrounding the trail and falls, dense with ferns and cedars; the aroma is magical.
